GUTTERS & DRAINAGE
Review leaks, downspout placement, and the route water takes before replacing your gutters.
By Superior Roofing & Exteriors · Homeowner Guide
Recurring overflow, leaks, sagging, or visible deterioration are reasons to review the system. Record where the issue occurs and when it happens. A blocked section and a deteriorated section may call for different work, so the first step is to understand the condition rather than assume that everything needs replacement.
A gutter discussion should include downspouts and where water goes after it leaves the roof. Consider nearby walks, landscaping, grading, and adjoining areas when discussing discharge. Ask how the proposed arrangement fits the property and any applicable requirements.
If roofing, fascia, siding, or painting is also planned, discuss the sequence before work starts. Clarify which components will be removed, replaced, retained, or finished. Connected details are easier to define in one conversation than as separate assumptions in several proposals.
Review the proposed material, finish, attachment, downspout locations, and removal and cleanup scope. Ask what the estimate includes at corners and transitions and how additional findings will be handled. If proposals differ, compare those details before comparing totals.
Take photos of the areas that concern you from a safe location and explain the pattern you have noticed. Tell us about other exterior changes you are considering. We can discuss the existing system and the proposed scope so the work fits the roof and the property.
READY FOR A CHANGE?
Note where overflow happens, bring ground-level photos, and identify where the downspouts empty. Mention any planned roof-edge or fascia work.
